Meet the Team

With more than 14 years' experience in all-things insurance, Chris founded WIA (Wagner Insurance Agency) Marine Insurance in 2016 after being involved with many high-performance runs and large, unsanctioned boat races here at the Lake of the Ozarks. Chris saw a supreme need to help protect all-things speed in not only Missouri, but across the United States and beyond. Chris has steadily taken WIA Marine Insurance to nearly 40 states across the nation, and he adds more states every day. WIA Marine Insurance offers competitive coverage and premium to all types of vessels; regardless of speed, boating experience, age/length of vessel, or other common hurdles that often leave other companies at a loss for the best insurance carrier placement. Chris, a former Motocross and Snocross racer himself, lives to go fast. He and his team are with you, all the way.

Christy married Owner/Founder Chris Wagner in 2010, and she has witnessed how his hard work and dedication to his companies has created something truly extraordinary - and boundless. Along with her administrative work at WIA Marine Insurance, Christy is the Editor of the Official Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Program Guide. Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come to the Lake of the Ozarks to watch boats fly past at speeds of more than 200 miles per hour, and Chris and Christy can be found flagging these boats from the Start Box, checking radar, and working the radios. As a former Communications Operator for the State of Missouri's Marine Operations Division, Christy understands the importance of being properly insured and protected. She and her team are with you, all the way.

Jessica has several years' experience in the insurance industry, and has worked with WIA Marine Insurance to best place boats and serve clients since 2021. She has a strong passion for boating and is heavily involved in the boating community. One of her favorite things to do is to attend poker runs; whether they be in Florida, the Lake of the Ozarks, or Lake Havasu. Jessica specializes in high-performance boats, because she knows high-performance boats. She also attends nearly all of our boat shows between Florida, Kansas City, St. Louis and those held at the Lake of the Ozarks, so be sure to stop by and say hi if you see her out and about!

Nikki grew up at the Lake of the Ozarks from a young age and has watched as the local community has grown tremendously over the past 30+ years. Nikki has a love for all-things high horsepower and toys, and she is WIA's go-to marine insurance specialist for hard-to-place boats or those with unique circumstances.

"We always had a Chevelle, El Camino, Corvette (sometimes two- ha), or something fun in the driveway." Nikki says. "My dad would always name the type of engine a vehicle had on the highway, and I appreciate his knowledge- more than ever now."

Nikki has worked in administration and management positions in the customer service realm her entire adult career, and she started with the Wagner Insurance Agency in 2017; contributing to the growth of the marine insurance side part-time while juggling customer service tasks on the personal lines' side. Nikki became an exclusive marine contractor with WIA Marine Insurance in May of 2020, and she has been helping clientele all over the country to achieve their boating dreams.

"At the end of the day, my true passion is just helping other people," Nikki continued, in closing. "It is super cool to be a part of such a unique, specialized industry... and really, truly getting to be a part of our clients' journey."

Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, and he spent his summers boating and fishing at his grandparents' house on Bull Shoals Lake, as well as the White River in Northern Arkansas. His ties to the Lake of the Ozarks date back to 1982, and he has had the privilege of watching the Lake grow into all it has become today over the past forty years. Mark retired from a lengthy carrier with the State of Missouri before delving into the world of insurance, and his prior career helped expose him to a variety of insurance-related matters - including testifying in court as a witness on numerous occasions. Mark has always loved boating and fishing, and he is thankful to be able to help others with similar interests; especially as a frequent visitor to the Lake of the Ozarks himself. Mark and his wife, Kelly, of 22 years, have two daughters: Katie and Hannah.

Alexis grew up vacationing at the Lake of the Ozarks up until her parents decided they loved being here so much, that they packed up and moved when she was 15-years-old. She has been working in the boating industry ever since, between being a gas dock girl at one of the most popular marinas at the Lake to managing a boat rental location, to what she thrives doing now; helping people find a marine insurance policy that fits their needs. Alexis takes the time to help each client better understand what coverage is right for them. She specializes in niche markets that few companies in the U.S. specialize in, and strives to better help the clients of WIA on a daily basis.

"Finding an insurance policy is like finding the right boat," Alexis explains. "It takes time, research, and thoughtful consideration."

When Alexis isn't in the office, she enjoys going to car shows, taking her two dogs for a fun day at the river, and, of course, spending the day on the boat with friends.

Rick was once a full-time weekender; coming to the Lake of the Ozarks from Kansas City for over 35 years. He has lived in Sunrise Beach, or paradise (as he calls it), for the past seven years. Rick has 35 years' insurance experience, and in many aspects of the industry. He has worked alongside Chris for the past seven years, and he has had the opportunity to watch WIA Marine Insurance grow from just one or two states to what it has become today. Rick has owned boats for over 30 years, and he loves living the #ultimatelakelife and the joy that boating brings to everyone. He can be found working the booth at any one of our many boat shows each year, and he works super hard behind-the-scenes to help our customers with all of their billing/servicing needs, while providing unending support to our entire team.
